Copy of Get Trash(ed) with OSV Count 2020
Join us for a beach cleanup September 28, 2019!
Last year we had over 70 vehicles and 170 volunteers attend. It was the largest cleanup the OSV has ever seen with over 1,800 pounds of trash removed! This year we want to go even bigger and we need your help. We've partnered up with Get Trash(ed) on Assateague and together we are hosting our annual "Get Trash(ed) with OSV Count". Our event will coincide with the parks cleanup event to celebrate National Public Lands Day. For those of you with teens, this event qualifies for service learning hours needed for graduation, just bring your student's paperwork to the event.
Event Information
Registration begins at the OSV gate at 8am and ends at 10:30am. You must have a valid OSV permit along with the required safety equipment for your vehicle. If you do not have an OSV permit and would still like to participate in the cleanup, please head to the north beach parking lot (the one on the left when you enter the park). Assateague Coastal Trust is hosting their own cleanup with an opportunity to head to the northern point of the island. An area thats usually only accessible by boat. Neato!
Gate prize drawings will be held at noon for the OSV cleanup. You will receive instructions at registration time and we'll tell you where to meet up with your trash and receive a drawing ticket. Please bring water, snacks, bug spray, sun screen lotion and gloves. Wear some comfortable shoes or flops, you might be doing some walking in the dunes or woods. All members of osvcount.com will receive a special in app badge on their profile for participating. Please have your member name ready at checkin.
